Originally named Hosh, the distillery underwent several ownership changes before being acquired by John and Hugh Drummond in the early 1800s. Throughout its history, Glenturret faced periods of decline and closure, but in 1957, it was revived by enthusiast James Fairlie, who restored the distillery and brought it back into operation. In 1999, The Edrington Group acquired Glenturret, infusing new energy and investment into the distillery.
