This fine old bottle comes from the famous old distilleries in the village of Comber in County Down. Comber Distilleries consisted of two premises, Upper and Lower, both of which were run as a single company from 1861. The Lower Distillery closed in the 1930s and the label on this whiskey suggests that at the time both distilleries existed (or at least mature liquid from both distilleries). An educated guess would suggest this bottle dates from the 1930s or earlier but we can't be sure. The capsule and seal appear to be in good condition for the age although there has been some evapouration of the liquid which sits at just below the shoulder of the bottle.
