A limited edition expression following the release of the Currach Irish Single Malt, the Currach Founders Cask Strength Irish Single Malt. This whiskey was originally matured in ex-Bourbon casks before being finished in seaweed charred virgin oak casks, resulting in a multi-layered flavour profile with a delicate umami character. This single cask is limited to 220 hand-filled and hand numbered bottles at cask strength (60% abv). These bottles have been drawn from the very first cask that they used to explore the idea of enriching a single malt Irish Whiskey with seaweed. The aim in which was to create the perfect union of the Irish land and sea in whiskey and showcase the best of Irish terroir.
