291 : Redbreast Small Batch Cask Strength for Title Town

This auction is closed, biddings on the lot are no longer possible

A very limited release of Redbreast. This small batch 14 Year old Single pot Still was bottled for Title Town. Redbreast was originally created in 1912 by the legendary bottlers and distillers Gilbey’s, and the early incarnations were always sourced from the old Jameson Distillery on Bow Street in Dublin. Over the years a variety of expressions were released that were bottled at either 10 years old or 12 years old. Once the Jameson Distillery became part of Irish Distillers supplies of casks to Gilbey’s dried up and the last ‘Old Redbreast’ bottlings were released in 1985. The brand was subsequently sold to Irish Distillers and was fortunately revived in 1991 using whiskey sourced from the Midleton Distillery. All the bottlings released since then have been made using Midleton whiskey and in the main these make use of high-quality Sherry casks, with a lesser amount of Bourbon casks in each vatting. Whiskey connoisseurs have fallen back in love with Redbreast whiskey and for many it is the quintessential Irish Single Pot Still whiskey.
