Described as being “as deep as the ocean,” this distinctive Ardbeg was matured in virgin Black Sea oak casks personally sourced by Dr. Bill Lumsden from the Adyghe Republic in Russia. Whisky from these rare casks was then married with traditional bourbon cask-matured Ardbeg, creating a richly layered and characterful expression. Bottled at 46% ABV for Fèis Ìle 2017, Ardbeg Kelpie takes its name from Scottish folklore’s mischievous water spirit - a shape shifting creature said to inhabit the lochs and seas.
