Any of you who went to the 2018 whiskey live may have been lucky enough to try this unique whiskey. With most usually placing the malt into barrels the innovators at white tail decided to float African Mahonony in the Malt to add the flavour certainly an innovation at the time and one that i dont think is allowed any more. They flew to close to the sun seemingly. Almost everything about this whiskey from the name to the people behind it scream American and from what Im told it even reminds people of bourbon but it is certainly Irish. Maybe the addition of the mahogony gives that spice and sweetness of bourbon. It hasnt seemed to have caught on just yet but maybe we will see mahogony casks yet.
